Nippers
Our programme runs from late November through to the end of April. The nippers train every Friday from 6.00 p.m. until 7.00 p.m, we usually finish about 6.45 to have a sausage sizzle. Carnivals are every other Sunday at beaches around the bay.

Our nippers are started age 5.
When they reach the age of 9 they are invited to be part of our Junior Lifeguard Programme and then when they are 12 they take the PBS award and become part of a patrol team
Our main aim is to have beach fun, but with a focus on beach carnival training. They learn water safety skills, how to use a board and a ski, beach games, carnival skills and how to care for equipment (attendance at carnivals is optional). They can train to use the reel for races, knots, and flags.

Nipper parents are positively encouraged to take part in all activities,
Children under ten years of age must have a parent in attendance, the parents decided on this rule.
Parents may, if they wish take first aid or lifesaving awards under our fully qualified instructors.
